This Nihongo E-Learning website is a project of |

The Nihongo Center Foundation, Inc. and is |
|
|
supported by the Japanese government under |
|
|
the Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots Projects. |
The project was created with the aim of reaching students who are unable to attend regular classroom lectures due to the constraints of schedule and location, and offers lessons on reading and writing Nihongo, as well as basic grammar and vocabulary. It is also an optional tool for further learning and practice for existing students of our classroom lectures.
JoomlaLMS
The E-Learning program utilizes the Joomla Learning Management System (JoomlaLMS) which offers a robust platform for online learning as well as course and student management. The software is designed for minimal teacher supervision, allowing the learner to browse the lessons independently and at their own pace.

The E-learning program offers an entire course in Elementary |

Japanese 1 , comprised of the following: |

• An introduction to the Japanese language (Nihongo) |
|
|
• Reading and writing of hiragana, katakana and kanji |
|
|
• Basic vocabulary and grammatical patterns |
|
|
• Ample and varied exercises |
|
|
• Quizzes and Long test for all of the above |

In addition to the basic content, the program also features the following multimedia content: |

• Images and animation for reading and writing, as well as for all the sentence patterns |
|
|
• Audio clips for pronunciation reference, sentencepatterns , dialogue practice, and listening exercises |
|
|
• Video for pattern explanations and examples (to be added) |
|
|
The program also offers a communication system between fellow students and teachers for questions and discussion through the following: |

• A user messaging system and mailbox |
|
|
• A message board open to all registered users |
|
|
• An in-depth appointment booking system for face-to-face consultation. |
