Standard answers to frequently asked questions regarding the e-learning program

Q: What is the e-learning program? 
A: The e-learning program is a course designed for students to learn Nihongo at his own pace and time, within office hours. Instructions and exercises in the form of videos and animation are utilized to sharpen vocabulary, listening and reading skills.


 

Q: Who can enrol in the e-learning program? 
A: Anybody who is willing to learn Nihongo is eligible to enrol in the e-learning program. The program is designed to accommodate busy people who require flexibility in schedule.



Q: How does the e-learning program typically work? 
A: The student will come to the school and be assigned to a computer. 

Instructions on learning activities will be given by the computer. Learning activities will be in the form of instructional videos on grammar patterns, audio for listening skills and drills designed to hone pronunciation and conversational skills. 

Each student will be required to go through periodic assessment of their skill throughout the course. For example, after completing lessons one to four, an assessment will be inserted as an activity to ensure that the student is learning before he/she can proceed to lesson five. 

The assessment is a one to one dialogue between the student and the teacher. The teacher will be the only person to allow the student to go to the next lesson. 

The student must make an appointment for the assessment. If a teacher is available, the assessment can be done immediately. If not, the student can come back another day for the assessment. An assessment can be completed in about 30 minutes.



Q: What are the benefits of taking the e-learning program? 
A: The program is ideal for students who have busy schedules and would like to learn and/or practice nihongo at their pace in their own time. The course is intended to expand the students vocabulary as well as improve speaking, listening and reading skills. As such, the student can expect to improve his/her overall nihongo skills.



Q: How much does it cost? 
A: The tuition of the e-learning course shall be announced mid 2011.



Q: Can I pay in terms? 
A: We are accepting a two-payment scheme. The first payment of 60% shall be paid upon enrolment and the balance of 40% upon completion of lesson 5 or mid-course assessment.



Q: Is there a maximum number of hours per day that I can use the program? 
A: The student may use the program for a maximum of 3 hours per day.



Q: Does my course enrolment expire? 
A: Yes. The course must be taken within 3 months and a maximum of 36 hours.



Q: If I do not wish to continue my course is the card transferrable to my classmate? 
A: No. The course is non-transferrable to other students.



Q: What time and days of the week can I use the e-learning program? 
A: The student may use the program from Monday through Friday from 9am to 6pm.



Q: If I have questions, will there be a teacher around whom I can consult? 
A: Yes, during e-learning office hours there will be teacher around whom you can consult.



Q: Is there a trial I can take to see if I like it? Will there be a fee? 
A: No, there is no fee. We have an online on our website. Please check nihongocenter.com



Q: Where is the e-learning program located? 
A: The e-learning program is located at our Makati campus: 3rd floor, Dominion Bldg 833 Arnaiz Ave, Makati City



Q: When will the e-learning program start? 
A: The e-learning program will be opened to the public on the 2nd half of 2011. Please check our website for further updates.



Q: Im interested. How do I enroll? 
A: Thank you for your interest. You may come to our Makati campus to enrol. Upon enrolling, the students handbook shall be handed for users instructions.



Q: How does the e-learning program differ from other online courses? 
A: Student receives review and feedback from actual teachers.
